We are excited to announce that Power of Words Academy will once again host the Toronto regional round of the prestigious World Scholar’s Cup on May 8 and 9, 2026! This globally renowned competition attracts over 50,000 students from more than 60 countries, offering an exceptional opportunity for young learners to develop their critical thinking, teamwork, and creativity in a vibrant and inspiring environment.
Why Participate?
The World Scholar’s Cup offers a transformative educational journey filled with engaging challenges that build collaboration, creativity, and confidence. Students compete in teams of three, tackling a variety of stimulating events such as:
Scholar’s Challenge: Test knowledge across diverse subjects.
Collaborative Writing: Showcase creativity and teamwork in writing.
Team Debate: Develop public speaking and argumentation skills.
Scholar’s Bowl: Participate in a fun quiz that tests quick thinking and teamwork.
Divisions cater to Junior (ages 10-14) and Senior (ages 15-17) students, ensuring a perfect fit for all skill levels

Prep Course (November 2025 – April 2026):
Our comprehensive prep course is designed to fully prepare students for the upcoming World Scholar’s Cup. The $900 fee includes official competition registration and a POW Academy T-Shirt. Individual Participation:
Register your child to compete as part of a POW Academy team. This includes a dedicated preparation session on May 3rd from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at our North York Campus, or on May 4th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM via our virtual campus. The registration also includes a POW Academy T-Shirt. The total fee is $200, which covers the official competition registration fee of $70.

There is no limit to the number of teams a school can submit. If you have a solo scholar, inquire about opportunities to pair them with another school’s incomplete team.
