Unexpected Voices Speech Competition

We are excited to announce that the 2026 Unexpected Voices Speech Competition is now open for submissions! This inspiring initiative aims to amplify the voices of young Canadians by encouraging students to share their ideas on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The competition not only raises awareness of these global priorities but also supports students in developing essential skills such as writing, public speaking, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Students are invited to submit their written speeches by January 31, 2026. A distinguished panel of judges, including professional speechwriters, will select fifteen outstanding speeches from each age category to advance to Round 2. The Finals and Awards Ceremony will take place at The Bishop Strachan School (BSS) on April 26, 2026. We sincerely thank BSS for partnering with us. Their support and dedication to nurturing young talent will make this event truly memorable. We look forward to showcasing another inspiring lineup of young voices making a difference.
